VILLAGE OF LAKEWOOD CLUB
4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION WILL BE HELD JUNE 30, 2018
The theme this year is Cherry Jubilee!
Parade begins at 1:00 p.m. sharp at the corner of Kenwood and Spruce and will travel to the Village Park on Kedzie. Please watch your children and keep them out of the street! Please consider participating in the parade. We have four catagories this year for prizes; Best Float ($75), Best theme decorated motor vehicle ($50)(all vehicles must be licensed and insured), best non-motorized ($25), and best dressed pet ($25). You will receive a number at the beginning of the parade to compete in this. Please bring candy to pass out at the Parade.
All of the following activities are free for the enjoyment of our residents and their families. These will be located at the Village Park.
1:30 p.m. Welcome and Singing of the National Anthem.
1:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m. DJ-Virgil Stanley
1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Photo Booth with props
1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Caricature Artist
1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Face Painter
1:30p.m.-5:30 p.m. Inflatable Bounce house, obstacle course, and bungee run.
2:00 p.m. Kayak races (you must have your own kayak and be 16 years or older).
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Children’s games with prizes. We need volunteers to help with children’s games(call Village Hall).
3:00 p.m. Family Magic Show with P. J. Weber at/near pavilion.
4:00 p.m. Cherry Pie Contest, bring your homemade cherry pie to The Civic Center by 3:30 p.m. Judging will be at 4:00 p.m.
There is no alcohol allowed anywhere in the park. The Nite Spot will welcome you.
Jager’s Concession will be at the Park all day with a variety of food and drinks for purchase.
Cotton Candy Concession - Resident Chris Cooley. Please support our vendors.
There will be Glo Necklaces and Glo Bracelets for purchase around dusk time for our fabulous fireworks
We are also having multiple vendors with items to purchase. If you are a vendor and would like to participate you must have your own table/supplies and there is a $10.00 fee. Please e-mail me let me know if you would like to set up a table at firstname.lastname@example.org.
6:00 p.m. Lakewood Bible Church will be putting on their annual potluck dinner and live band.
Dusk or approximately 10:00 p.m. fireworks.
No Sales of anything during these events unless you have prior approval from the Village Office

Children must be supervised by Parents/guardians at all times.
No Alcohol in the park
Limited seating-recommend to bring your own chairs
Please don’t litter-use garbage cans.
Please observe parking lot/area restrictions. Certain areas will be reserved for vendors, entertainers, and handicapped.
The success of this years event and any future celebrations is dependent on support of the community. Bring family and friends to the parade and spend the day in the park enjoying the activities and supporting the vendors. We still need volunteers to help with the parade, children’s games, and activities. If you would like to volunteer please call the Village Hall or contact Kristina All at 231-286-1325.
